Associate Retreat
One of the on-going professional development opportunities our associates enjoy is the Associate Retreat. The focus of our Associate Retreat is on both personal and professional development. Highlights of our Retreat included:
- State of the Firm by the Firm Chairman
- An open forum on Compensation, Promotion and Evaluations
- Updates on McDermott’s Diversity and Pro Bono initiatives
- Diversity Sensitivity training
- Broad-ranging professional development courses
- Meetings with each Department
In addition, to the business and educational sessions, the Retreat offers a variety of activities to give our lawyers the opportunity to get to know each other socially and casually. The Firm’s LGBT associates meet as a group, as do the Firm’s Minority associates, to get to know each other and discuss the Firm’s various diversity initiatives. The Retreat is planned by a committee comprised of at least one associate representative from each of our offices and departments to ensure that it is both productive, relevant and fun.
