Attorney Testimonials
Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., 2003 As a young associate at McDermott, I am continually impressed by the wealth of opportunities I have to work directly with clients and to make significant substantive contributions to the matters I work on. Two months after joining the Firm following a clerkship, I was staffed on a major merger defense for an important client. A few months later, my team was negotiating a detailed divestiture agreement with the Federal Trade Commission, including several hotly contested issues that had to be resolved before the merger could proceed. At our next meeting with the FTC, and less than six months into my career at McDermott, I presented for over an hour regarding these contested issues and how we proposed to resolve them. Partners from McDermott, general counsel and senior executives from both companies, our expert economist and the attorneys and economists from the FTC were all in the room while I presented, and the State Attorney General’s offices were on the phone. After the presentation, one of the Firm’s partners came up to me and said, "Great job. You know that never would have happened at another firm." He's right. At McDermott, partners are willing to give associates real opportunities to be engaged in cases and to develop their skills. |
