One of the things that has truly impressed me about McDermott is its commitment to pro bono work.  In my short time at the Firm, I have been involved in five separate pro bono matters.  In addition to providing an important and rewarding service to the community, this work has allowed me to meet and work with people outside my practice group and further develop key skill sets.  The Firm recognizes the importance of pro bono work by facilitating involvement in a wide array of activities (Landlord/Tenant cases, Guardian ad litem services, Social Security benefits appeals, and a partnership with a local elementary school just to name a few) and by counting hours spent on pro bono matters towards your total billable hours.
