What impressed me the most about McDermott's Boston office was how quickly we were given substantive, challenging work to do.  While classmates and peers at other firms struggled to find work throughout the summer, McDermott had a great mix of pro bono and paying-client assignments, from a variety of departments, ready for each of us on Day 1.  The steady influx of new and follow-on assignments over the 12 weeks allowed for the perfect balance of interesting work during the day, and fun social events after hours; neither ever felt overwhelming.  My supervising attorneys could not have been friendlier, the staff was fantastic, and my fellow summers and I all got along famously.
