Why McDermott?
In our London practice, we are seeking the brightest, best and most entrepreneurial graduates. Our training programme is deliberately exclusive. Since we only take a small number of trainees each year, they need to be self-reliant, academic high-fliers who want to make their mark. The Firm provides many opportunities for trainees to get to know one another and the partners, counsel, associates and other staff. A wide range of social events are also held throughout the year.
We offer a bespoke and broad-based training contract. We are known to be a collegial firm and office, which supports the growth and development of our trainees from day one. Don’t just rely on us: read it in their own words. We have an enviable record of promoting to partnership organically, and we view our trainees as being integral to the future evolution and growth of our office.
We offer our trainees a number of opportunities, such as secondments to some of our leading clients, which have enriched their legal experience and made their training contracts unique. Being part of a smaller intake allows trainees to be individuals within the office. You will get quality work assignments with quality people throughout your time at McDermott.
Finally, we would urge you to look at the Chambers Student Guide to get an honest and objective view of training with us—no-one except our current trainees has any input on this guide, so it does provide a true picture. We have been nominated for an award at the 2010 LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards for Best Recruiter - US Firm in the City'.
