Job Summary:

McDermott is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate with 2-5 years of experience, and high-tech specialties. The ideal candidate should have experience with all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including developing court submissions relevant to infringement and validity, discovery, motions, expert opinions, and trial work.  Candidate should have a graduate degree in technology areas, including electrical engineering, computer sciences, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, computer systems engineering or material sciences.  Industry work experience in technical areas across the semiconductor, computer, networking, or software industries is desirable. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work as a team member are critical.

 We’re open to candidates in Austin, Chicago, or Washington, D.C.

  • 2-5 years of IP experience and experience in high tech
  • Must be barred and in good standing in the state in which you practice
  • Admission to the USPTO preferred but not required
  • Excellent analytical skills, writing skills, and academic record

Expected Pay Range for Associates: 2024/2023 Class Compensation Years: $225,000

                                                           2022 Class Compensation Years: $235,000

                                                           2021 Class Compensation Years: $260,000

                                                           2020 Class Compensation Years: $310,000

                                                           2019 Class Compensation Years: $365,000

                                                           2018 Class Compensation Years: $390,000

                                                           2017 Class Compensation Years: $420,000

                                                           2016 and more senior class compensation years: $435,000
